The move reflects a broader shift in Jamaica’s entertainment landscape, where brands are increasingly being judged not only by what they sell or how prominently their logos are displayed, but by the value they add to the overall event experience.
After 16 years in Negril, this year’s relocation to Montego Bay marks a new chapter for the festival, with branded activations expected to be woven into the event through curated hospitality spaces, signature cocktails, entertainment experiences and interactive installations.
According to Scott Dunn, managing director of Dream Entertainment Limited, strategic partnerships have become increasingly important as the festival continues to evolve and audience expectations change.
“Moving Dream Weekend to Montego Bay gives us an opportunity to raise the standard of how the festival is delivered,” Dunn said. “The right partners bring resources, expertise and fresh ideas that help us strengthen production, respond to changing audience expectations and reinforce Dream Weekend’s place on Jamaica’s summer tourism calendar.”
For Nadine Hylton, Guinness and Spirits Brand Manager at Red Stripe, the changing role of beverage brands reflects how consumers now engage with festivals.
“Consumers no longer distinguish between the event and the brands that help bring it to life. They experience it as one. That means every brand touchpoint has to add value, feel authentic and contribute to how they remember the occasion,” said Hylton.
This year, Guinness, Casamigos, Smirnoff and Red Stripe will feature across three of Dream Weekend’s signature events, with each brand activation designed to complement the atmosphere and audience of a specific event rather than adopting a one-size-fits-all approach.
Guinness will be part of the live-performance experience at DREAM Live on July 31. Casamigos and Smirnoff will help shape the atmosphere at DAYDREAMS on August 1, while Red Stripe and Smirnoff will feature at YUSH later that same day.
Rather than focusing solely on visibility, organisers and brand partners are placing greater emphasis on experience design, creating spaces and moments that naturally become part of patrons’ festival experience.
These activations may include premium lounges, signature cocktails, product sampling, branded social spaces and installations designed to encourage interaction while complementing the entertainment already taking place.
“Each brand must have a clear reason for being part of an event,” Hylton explained. “We look at the audience, the music, the time of day and the overall mood, then determine how the brand can add value. Patrons should be able to experience the personality of Guinness, Smirnoff, Casamigos or Red Stripe in a way that feels natural to the event.”
The emphasis on experience also places greater importance on execution, with organisers noting that successful activations are not necessarily the biggest or most elaborate, but those that are easy to access, well serviced and seamlessly integrated into the festival environment.

As patrons increasingly share their festival experiences online, brands are also designing physical spaces that translate naturally to social media while creating memorable moments that extend beyond the event itself.

For Hylton, the goal extends far beyond product exposure.
“Our ambition is for consumers to remember how an event made them feel and to naturally associate our brands with those positive moments,” she said. “That’s how meaningful brand relationships are built over time.”
As Jamaica’s festival industry continues to evolve, organisers believe the brands that leave the strongest impression will be those that contribute meaningfully to the experiences patrons value most, making the bar just one part of a much larger story.

An aerial view of the Smirnoff-sponsored Celebrity Playground at Dream Weekend 2025 highlights how staging, branded spaces and high-energy entertainment are brought together to create an immersive festival environment. The experience-led approach gives patrons multiple opportunities to socialise, engage and connect with the event beyond the main stage.
