Republic Beach Club invades Plantation Cove on Emancipation Day
Since it was first held in July 2022, Republic Beach Club has emerged as one of the season’s most anticipated events on the entertainment calendar.
On Saturday, August 1, the event will move into overdrive with its latest staging at Plantation Cove in St Ann.
Commissioned to bring the event alive musically are DJ Mac and Baba, Kevi The Kinetic, Craigis and Travo of Illusion Sound, Fyahman, Brush 1 — the Road Marshall, Bloodline Franco, Cyclone and Marc Chin of Coppershot and Carlos of A-Team.
Mikhail De Gale, director of Fete Republic, promoters of Republic Beach Club, explained the initial concept behind the event.
“Republic Beach Club was conceptualised to be Jamaica’s first bottle inclusive beach party. With purchase of one of our bottle tickets our guests receive a bottle package that includes their favourite alcoholic beverage, branded drinkware, chaser, water and ice. It was intended to be a getaway in Ocho Rios with the convenience and innovation of bottle tickets, beautiful people and endless vibes,” De Gale told Observer Online on Thursday.

“Over the years, Republic Beach Club has grown into a favourite on the local entertainment landscape. Since 2023, we have focused on themed events where every guest participates in the creation of a unique experience that can’t be found elsewhere. With this, Republic Beach Club has been at the forefront of the resurgence of themed events locally and is now a staple event on the Jamaican entertainment calendar,” he continued.
De Gale gave insight into what patrons can expect at Saturday’s staging.

“Our guests can expect to have the perfect day at the beach. Their favourite drinks, endless vibes, idyllic views and a top tier musical experience curated by some of Jamaica’s biggest names. Guests are encouraged to celebrate with us in looks inspired by their favourite World Cup team,” he said.
Asked what makes Republic Beach Club a must-attend event, the event director said, “Since our second year, Republic Beach Club has been one the most talked about and well attended events on the summer calendar. We maintain this by providing an experience that can’t be found elsewhere locally. This staging is all about replicating the electric vibes and passion the beautiful game of football and the World Cup evokes globally. The perfect vibes, a world class musical experience curated by the best, your closest friends and your favourite drinks await you this Emancipation Day at Republic Beach Club.”
Behind the scenes, Republic Beach Club continues to attract support from established brands including Appleton Estate, Courvoisier, Pepsi, Ocean Spray, Jacana Jamaica and Barcode, while production partners Starlight Production, Dream Prints, D3 Draping, Jeff Reels and K&R Marketplace help bring the annual staging to life.
As Emancipation Day approaches, De Gale believes the event’s continued success comes down to delivering an atmosphere that feels effortless for guests while remaining memorable long after the holiday weekend ends.
“Whether you’re a football fan, a beach lover or simply looking for the best way to celebrate the Emancipation Day holiday, Republic Beach Club offers something unique that you won’t find anywhere else,” he said. “It’s the perfect combination of world-class entertainment, exceptional service, incredible scenery and an unmatched party atmosphere. If you’re making plans for the Emancipation Day holiday, Republic Beach Club deserves to be at the very top of your list.”
