Guinness extends its partnership with dancehall artiste Govana
Dancehall artiste and Guinness brand ambassador Govana performs at Guinness Dream Live on Friday night in Montego Bay

Guinness extends its partnership with dancehall artiste Govana

Dancehall artiste Govana, known for hits like Champ, Shrimp Patty, Loyalty, Breeze and Run Road with Aidonia, has seen his partnership with Guinness extended for the 2026-2027 period.

The announcement of the extension of the artiste’s relationship with the iconic brand was revealed on Friday night at Dream Live, part of the Dream Wknd series of events in Montego Bay.

According to Guinness Brand Manager Nadine Hylton, the renewed partnership reflects both Govana’s influence and the success of the collaboration.

“Over the past year, Govana has been an outstanding partner whose connection with consumers has helped bring our campaigns to life in an authentic way. As we expand our music platform across the Caribbean, we’re excited to build on that momentum and introduce the partnership to new audiences across the region,” Hylton told Observer Online exclusively.

The renewed agreement sees Govana continue as the face of Guinness’ A Lovely Day for a Guinness campaign in Jamaica while extending his role into several Caribbean markets, reflecting the brand’s broader regional approach to music, culture and consumer engagement.

For Govana, the partnership represents an opportunity to continue working with a brand that has maintained a long-standing connection with Jamaican culture.

“I’m proud to continue representing Guinness. It has consistently supported Jamaican music and culture, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to take this partnership to audiences across the Caribbean,” Govana told Observer Online.

The expansion comes as Jamaican music continues to strengthen its influence across the Caribbean, creating new opportunities for brands to connect with audiences through shared cultural experiences. Govana’s growing appeal across the region made the partnership a natural fit for Guinness’ expanding entertainment platform.

The partnership between Guinness and Govana expands beyond Jamaica into Trinidad and Tobago, Guyana, The Bahamas and Saint Lucia as the brand strengthens its music platform across the Caribbean.

Govana whose real name is Romeo Nelson, is originally from Spanish Town. He broke through the entertainment landscape more than a decade ago, and since then, he has maintained a solid space within the sector.

To date, Govana has released two albums, with Legacy being his most recent offering, released in 2024. It was hailed by critics as a creditable body of work.
