PAN JAMAICA (Pan Jam) Group Limited has acquired two freight businesses operating in Jamaica and the United Kingdom (UK), deepening its presence across the international cargo supply chain.

The Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE)-listed company has acquired West Indies Freight in the UK and Jamaica Trading Services Limited (JTS), a Jamaican freight-forwarding and customs brokerage company. Both businesses will retain their existing brands, employees and management teams.

In a statement sent to the Jamaica Observer, Pan Jam said the acquisitions would strengthen its ability to move cargo from overseas markets through to customers in Jamaica and elsewhere in the Caribbean.

“The core focus of the business will be to secure faster transit times for cargo coming to Kingston,” said Valrie Campbell, managing director of Pan Jamaica Logistics Group.

West Indies Freight has operated for more than 50 years, serving customers in the UK, the Caribbean and other international markets. JTS, founded by Jamaican entrepreneur Philip Jackson 38 years ago, provides freight-forwarding and customs brokerage services.

Together, the companies offer sea and air freight, haulage, international relocation, customs brokerage, and other logistics services.

The acquisitions will form part of Pan Jamaica’s Global Services portfolio and expand a logistics network that already includes JP Logistics Solutions, which operates warehousing, freight consolidation and shipping businesses in Miami and the UK.

Campbell said the enlarged operation would combine overseas cargo collection, shipping, customs clearance and local delivery within a wider network of companies.

The JTS acquisition also gives Pan Jam an established customs brokerage operation in Jamaica as the group expands the range of services offered through its logistics business.

The announcement follows the opening of JP Logistics Solutions’ Logistics Service Centre at the Total Logistics Facility in Newport West, Kingston. At that opening, Campbell said the group intended to introduce customs brokerage services and additional customer support operations in Jamaica before the end of 2026.

Mitzie Gordon Burke-Green, managing director of JTS, said the transaction would allow the company to expand its capabilities while maintaining its existing customer relationships and personalised service.

Jackson said the combination would place the businesses within a larger organisation capable of supporting their continued expansion while preserving the reputation and culture developed over several decades.

Pan Jam did not disclose the acquisition price, the size of the stakes acquired, how the transactions were financed or the expected contribution of the companies to group revenue and profit.

In addition to JP Logistics Solutions, Pan Jam holds interests in Kingston Wharves Limited and Geest Line, a UK-based shipping company operating between Europe and the Caribbean.
