KINGSTON, Jamaica—Jamaica’s true story, faith-based feature film, Redeemed, made an impressive debut on Monday evening, drawing capacity audiences to its highly anticipated red-carpet premiere at Carib 5 .

Originally scheduled to premiere across three cinemas for the 6:00 pm showing, demand for the film exceeded expectations, with all three theatres selling out.

The strong response also extended to the Ultra and VIP screenings, further underscoring the anticipation power surrounding the film. To accommodate the overflow of moviegoers, an additional screening was added at 8:40 pm.

The evening brought together moviegoers, the film’s cast, crew, industry stakeholders, members of the media and invited guests for a celebration marking a significant milestone for Jamaica’s film industry. Among those in the cast are international actor Malik Yoba, Jamaican cultural icon Julie Mango, Safaree Samuels, Jacinth Headlam, Michael Nicholson, Justin Awn, Cornelius Grant, Prince Saj and Charmaine Fenton.

As audiences exited the cinemas, conversations continued well into the evening, with many reflecting on the film’s emotional depth, compelling performances and powerful themes. The premiere sparked enthusiastic discussion among moviegoers, reinforcing the film’s ability to engage audiences and leave a lasting impression.

The Jamaican faith-based crime drama Redeemed: A Father’s Love received seven nominations at the Caribbean Film Awards, ahead of its red carpet premiere.

Without revealing the story’s dramatic twists, Redeemed follows a young woman whose life is forever changed after discovering that the man who abducted her is, in fact, her biological father. The gripping narrative explores faith, identity, forgiveness and redemption through a deeply moving story that resonates across generations.

Executive Producer Reverend Otis Manning expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming support shown at the premiere.
