Flow expands 5G mobile network access to prepaid customers
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Flow has expanded access to its 5G mobile network to prepaid customers, extending the benefits of next-generation connectivity to tens of thousands more Jamaicans as part of the company’s continued investment in delivering a faster, smarter, and more reliable mobile experience.
Customers subscribed to Flow’s 7-day prepaid plans and above can now enjoy the enhanced capabilities of the company’s 5G network including faster data speeds, lower latency, clearer voice calls, and improved performance when streaming, gaming, browsing, and using everyday digital applications.
The expansion follows the launch of Jamaica’s first 5G network for postpaid and business customers in June.
Stephen Price, vice president and general manager of Flow Jamaica, said the move reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to ensuring more customers benefit from its continued investment in network innovation.
“Expanding 5G to our prepaid customers is another important milestone in our journey to deliver the best possible mobile experience for Jamaicans,” said Price.

According to Flow, the 5G network is designed to deliver lower latency and faster responsiveness, enabling supported devices to communicate more efficiently with the network.
This translates into smoother video calls, faster downloads, improved streaming and gaming, and stronger overall performance for data-intensive applications.
To enjoy the full benefits of the 5G network, customers will need both a 5G-compatible device and a SIM card that supports 5G and VoLTE services.
Customers can confirm they are connected to the 5G network by looking for the 5G icon on their device. They can also check whether their SIM card is 5G-ready by dialing *555# from any Flow mobile phone.
To help customers make the switch, Flow is also offering complimentary SIM card replacements at retail locations islandwide, along with a range of competitively priced 5G-enabled devices and flexible payment options designed to make upgrading easier and more affordable.
