Golden Ambassador finally finds his groove in maiden win
Three-year-old chestnut colt Golden Ambassador finally found his groove on his third start, romping to an easy win in a maiden condition race for native-bred three-year-olds at Caymanas Park on Saturday, August 1, 2026.
Trained by Paul Swaby and ridden by Bebeto Harvey, Golden Ambassador, running with the tongue-tie on, won the 7½-furlong (1,500m) event by 3 lengths in a time of 1:34.4. The fractional times were 24.3, 47.3, 1:13.3, and 1:27.3.
Harvey settled Golden Ambassador in second place early, just behind Cee Lillian (Shane Richardson). The colt bided his time well before striking at the right moment, approaching the distance.
Golden Ambassador slipped through to take the lead and brought the field into the lane at a merry clip. He kept grinding in deep stretch and won easily ahead of Crown Court (Reyan Lewis) with Cee Lillian third.
Golden Ambassador is bred by Shackleville out of the Roderic Oconnor mare Sunscape.
