Masicka earns highest debut for a Jamaican dancehall act on Billboard for 2026

Masicka’s recently released third full-length studio album Forever Reign for Def Jam Recordings has earned the highest debut so far in 2026 on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart, opening at #4.

Forever Reign is the third back-to-back charting album for Masicka, following 2021’s 438 and 2023’s Generation of Kings, both of which opened and peaked at #2.

Masicka continues to solidify his position as one of the genre’s leading contemporary voices, with the critically acclaimed Forever Reign delivering a strong opening week, underscoring Masicka’s growing global presence and the strength of his audience across streaming and album consumption.

The Billboard debut comes on the heels of another major career milestone. Just one day after the album’s release, Masicka took over Barclays Center in Brooklyn on August 15 for his debut US headline arena show, selling out the iconic venue and turning the night into a major celebration of dancehall, Jamaican culture and New York’s Caribbean community.

The show also featured special guests, including Swizz Beatz, Vanessa Bling and dancehall artiste Elephant Man, who joined Masicka onstage throughout the night, adding to a career-defining celebration surrounding the release of Forever Reign.
Leading the Forever Reign is 1 Psalm, featuring Damian “Jr Gong” Marley, followed by Honor Roll featuring Kraff Gad. Other standout tracks including Pointless, Oak Tree and Spend have generated strong early engagement, demonstrating listener interest across the full project rather than around a single record.

Across 17 tracks, Forever Reign explores themes of faith, ambition, success, survival and legacy, while showcasing the introspective lyricism and commanding delivery that have become hallmarks of Masicka’s music. The album also features appearances from Blaqbonez, Kraff Gad and Lila Iké.

The momentum surrounding Forever Reign follows the success of Masicka’s previous album, Generation of Kings, and signals another chapter in his continued international growth.
