‘BLAISE’ IT UP!
Jamaica’s final hope Blaise Bicknell was locked in a tense battle with Spain’s Ivan Curbelo in the round of 32 at the ATP Kingston 2 Challenge Lawn Tennis tournament at the Liguanea Club on Tuesday night, with the match level at one set apiece when the Jamaica Observer went to press.
Bicknell won the first set 6-3, but Curbelo fought back to take the second 7-5 after one hour and 45 minutes.
Both players held serve early in the first set, but Bicknell broke Curbelo for the first time while leading 4-3 to take a 5-3 lead. He then held serve to take the set 6-3.
