Frazer breaks maiden with Rejected Raja at Caymanas
Anthony Frazer has his first winner. The apprentice jockey, a graduate of the Jamaica Racing Commission (JRC) Riding Programme, booted home Rejected Raja to victory in the day’s fifth race at Caymanas Park on Saturday, August 29, 2026.
It was a breakthrough moment for the young rider in a competitive three-year-old and upward Optional Claiming ($700,000-$600,000) contest over 5 furlongs (1,000m) straight.
Rejected Raja, trained by Ricardo Brown, broke well and settled just off the early speed as
Ballistic Missile (Emelio McLean), Laban (Raddesh Roman), and Posing Already (Joy Haynes) duelled up front.
The field crossed the dummy rails and onto the main track, and that’s when Frazer made his move. Rejected Raja responded willingly, surging past rivals in the final stages to win easily by 1¼ length.
Ballistic Missile held on for second, while Titan Tempo (Tevin Foster) finished third. The final time was 1:02.0 (23.3 x 47.3).
The race was for native-bred five-year-olds and imported six-year-olds and upward, non-winners of four. For Frazer, the win ends the wait and gets the monkey off his back.
