Recording artiste I-Octane is maintaining his musical momentum with two female-focused singles, Balance Pan Yuh Hand and Whine Up, which are gaining traction in different markets.

Balance Pan Yuh Hand, produced by long-time collaborator Seanizzle, was released on July 22, while Whine Up, produced by Costa Rican producer DJ Kendo, followed on August 12.

The entertainer, whose given name is Byiome Muir, told the Jamaica Observer his relationship with Seanizzle dates back to the early stages of his career, making their latest collaboration a natural one.

“Seanizzle is my brother and a producer I’ve always worked with from day one. He called me and said he had a song that he wanted us to work on, so he linked me in New York City with the idea and we completed it together right on the spot,” he shared.

Balance Pan Yuh Hand has been reportedly generating encouraging feedback from listeners and is also making an impact in the dancehall space. However, he believes there is still considerable room for the song to grow.

“I love the feedback it’s getting from the fans, plus the impact in the dance. We still have a far way to go in terms of promotion, but we’re doing it stage by stage with this song because it’s a big song, so we have to stay consistent,” he said.

Meanwhile, Whine Up has been expanding I-Octane’s reach in the Latin American market, reaching #1 on the Shazam Costa Rica charts. According to the artiste, the song has also been gaining traction in other Spanish-speaking countries.

The track has also found an audience online, particularly on TikTok, where numerous women have been using the sound in their videos.

“This achievement is great because it’s a great look when you have a big song in different markets worldwide. Plus, it extends the I-Octane brand globally,” he said.

Consistency has remained a major part of I-Octane’s strategy as the way audiences consume music continues to evolve.

“We live in a time now where people’s attention spans are very short, so most of the time you have to stay consistent within the algorithms,” he explained.

He described the year so far as a positive one but said his focus remains on finishing even stronger.

“It’s a very good start, but we’re working so we can end it great. We have a lot of new projects coming soon, plus more shows,” he said.

Among those projects are a new album, additional singles, and a new branding line, which the artiste said he is particularly excited about.

On the performance front, I-Octane’s team is currently putting together a winter European tour, which he described as his next major move.
