GEORGETOWN, Guyana — Jamaican lightweight prospect Daniel Hylton kept his perfect professional record intact on Saturday night, delivering a spectacular performance to defeat Guyanese fighter Septon Barton at the Clifford Anderson Sports Hall in Guyana.

Headlining the opening bout of the Caribbean Boxing Organization’s “Caribbean Boxing Showdown 2.0” on September 12, Hylton dominated the lightweight clash.

The definitive end came at 2:15 in the fourth and final round, when Hylton unleashed a surgical combination that sent Barton buckling to the canvas.

Barton was completely unable to recover, forcing the referee to wave off the contest and award Hylton a statement knockout victory. With this dominant win, the rising Jamaican star successfully elevates his professional record to 3-0.

It was a night of mixed fortunes for the Jamaican contingent in Georgetown, however. In the junior welterweight division, fellow countryman Toriano Nicholas suffered a tough setback, losing by a first-round knockout to Guyanese boxer Joel Williamson.

Despite the split results on foreign soil, Hylton’s explosive finish remains a massive statement across the region.
