Disciplinary actions taken by JRC Stewards
The Stewards announce the following disciplinary actions arising from inquiries held at the offices of the Jamaica Racing Commission, Units 15-17 Big Buy Plaza, Portmore, St Catherine, on Tuesday, September 15, 2026.
Jockey Robert Halledeen, who rode Purosangue in the second race on Saturday, August 15, 2026, was fined $5,000 for excessive use of the whip during the running of the race.
Groom Herbert Cousins, who was summoned for committing a breach of peace by issuing a threat to Jeremy Gordon at the stables of Byron Davis on August 28, 2026, was issued a warning.
Trainer Rowan Ricardo Mathie, who was summoned to explain the circumstances surrounding the validity of claims submitted for Cosmic Force, had his explanation accepted.
Owner Rowan Roy Mathie, who was summoned to explain the circumstances surrounding the validity of claims submitted for Cosmic Force, had his explanation accepted.
