JC Lodge brings Too Far Gone to life with music video
Veteran reggae singer JC Lodge gives visual expression to her latest recording, Too Far Gone, with the release of its official music video through Tad’s Record.
With a career defined by an unmistakable voice and songs that have travelled far beyond Jamaica’s shores, JC Lodge approaches Too Far Gone with the emotional assurance of an artiste who understands how to make lyrics feel personal. The song explores the complexities of love and the point at which a relationship may have travelled beyond easy repair.
Rather than relying on excess, JC Lodge allows the emotion of the song to carry the performance. Her distinctive vocal delivery brings vulnerability and maturity to the recording, qualities that have remained central to her music throughout her career.
The release comes as Too Far Gone gains increased visibility among reggae audiences. The song is currently featured among Apple Music Reggae’s Latest Songs, placing Lodge alongside a new generation of Jamaican and Caribbean recording artistes.
Too Far Gone is also featured on Celebrating Jamaica 64, Tad’s Record’s 17-track compilation released in August to commemorate Jamaica’s 64th year of Independence. The project brings together several generations and styles of Jamaican music, among them Marcia Griffiths, Vybz Kartel, Mavado, Brigadier Jerry, Terry Linen, Anthony Cruz, Hezron, and Busy Signal.
The recording was produced by Tad Dawkins and Tad Dawkins Jr, with Michael Howell credited as recording engineer and Gregory Morris and Tad Dawkins Jr among the mixing engineers.
The release of the official video provides another opportunity to introduce JC Lodge’s enduring artistry to contemporary audiences while giving long-time fans a fresh visual experience of one of reggae’s most recognisable voices.
The official music video is available now on YouTube.
