Slowly but surely jockey Shane Richardson is making his presence felt. The journeyman jockey booted home a sharp two-timer at Caymanas Park on Saturday, September 19, 2026, to take his seasonal tally to 12 winners and continue his quiet climb up the riders’ standings.

Richardson struck first in the opener with Undisclosdlocation for trainer Gresford Smith in the 4 furlong (800m) Optional Claiming ($500,000-$400,000) event for native-bred six-year-olds and upward (non-winners of four) and imported six-year-olds and upward and native-bred five-year-olds (non-winners of three).

Settled behind the early speed, the five-year-old chestnut gelding, allowed to do his best work late, came with a strong run on the inside in the final furlong to pull clear by 2½ lengths in 50.0 seconds flat (24.1). Enthusiasm (Nicardo Carr) came on for second ahead of Enthusiastic (Romane Gordon) in third.

If the first was workmanlike, the second was a demolition job. Richardson returned in race three aboard Alford Brown’s My Eclipse and the result was never in doubt. Contesting a Restricted Allowance V event for four-year-olds and upward (non-winners of two) and imported four-year-olds and upward (maidens) over a mile (1,600m0, My Eclipse annihilated his field.

The four-year-old bay colt drew off approaching the distance and widened with every stride in the straight, hitting the wire 11¾ lengths clear of Secret Sensation (Nicardo Carr), with Round The Twist (Tyrese Anderson) a distant third. The clock read 1:44.1 (24.3 x 48.2 x 1:15.2 x 1:29.1).
