When the starting gates opened for Sunday’s (September 20, 2026) $1.1-million Titania Trophy feature race at Caymanas Park, Gary Subratie’s Lexi Lou broke like a bullet and that, as it turned out, was the race.

In a daring, catch-me-if-you-can performance, the three-year-old filly made every post a winning post in the Restricted Allowance II for native-bred three-year-old fillies over 5 ½ furlongs (1,100m).

Under Dane Dawkins, Lexi Lou (Aveenu Malcainu – Herroyalhighness) made one decision — go — and stuck with it. She shot to the front, cleared One Ianzha Links (Reyan Lewis) and Pippa (Tajay Suckoo) going into the half-mile (800m) turn, and set strong fractions of 24.0 x 48.3.

Approaching the distance, Pippa came within a length of her and for a stride it looked like a race but it wasn’t. Dawkins just shook the reins and Lexi Lou found another gear entirely.

In deep stretch she burst clear, widening with every stride to win eased down by 4 ¼ lengths in 1:08.3 for the distance. It was bold, it was brilliant, and it was front-running the way it’s supposed to be ridden.

Behind her, Minnehaha (Omar Walker) ran on late to snatch second, while Midnight Traveller (Garvin Lewis) finished third, but they were fighting for the minor placings long before the wire. It was
Lexi Lou’s first run since finishing down the track in the Jamaica Oaks over 10 furlongs (2,000m) on August 1.
