KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jamaica’s quest for a place in the knockout stage of the Concacaf Nations League took a hit on Monday after they were edged 1-0 at the National Stadium by 10-man Honduras in their League A Group B game.

A first-half goal from Keyrol Figueroa ended a 13-year winless run against the Reggae Boyz and gave Honduras their first win in the series, as Jamaica failed to build on their dramatic come-from- behind win over Guatemala last Friday.

Jamaica slipped to fourth in the group after two games, tied on three points with Honduras, as Suriname leads the group with six points from two games.

Head coach Rudolph Speid made four changes to the starting team that beat Guatemala but was forced to withdraw Renaldo Cephas after just 12 minutes due to a leg injury.

A quick three-man combination resulted in Honduras scoring in the 15th minute, with Figueroa firing a pass from Jonathan Rubio past Andre Blake in the Jamaican goal.

Honduras were reduced to 10 men in the 68th minute when Dereck Moncada was sent off by Costa Rican referee Juan Gabriel Calderon after he charged into Ronaldo Webster close to the half line.
