Wolmer’s Boys student dies after collapsing during class
KINGSTON, Jamaica — A fourth-form Wolmer’s Boys High School student has died following a medical emergency at the school on Monday, the school has confirmed.
In a statement, the Wolmer’s Joint Board of Management indicated that the student collapsed during class and was rushed to hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The board expressed profound sorrow at the passing of the young man, describing it as a deeply painful loss for his family and for the entire Wolmer’s community.
“The Joint Board extends its heartfelt condolences to his parents, relatives, friends, classmates, teachers and all whose lives he touched,” the statement read.
The school said it is providing support to affected students and members of staff and urged the public to refrain from circulating unverified information concerning the circumstances of his passing.
