Marauding Waterhouse hit Chapelton for six to continue JPL rampage

Former champions Waterhouse FC continued their rampage in the Jamaica Premier League on Monday with a 6-0 thrashing of Chapelton Maroons in the first game of a double header at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex.

Six different players scored for Waterhouse, who led 3-0 at half time on their way to a third straight win.

Siegle Knight started the scoring when his long range shot was fumbled by goalkeeper Roje Williams across the goal line in the ninth minute.

Rohan Brown added a second in the 15th minute and Colorado Murray scored the first of two penalties in the 29th minute for three nil.

Mario Simms scored a second penalty in the 60th minute, and substitute Cardel Benbow scored the fifth goal in the 71st minute before Shamarie Dallas finished off the rout in the 77th minute.

With the win, the Donovan Duckie-coached Waterhouse moved into second place in the JPL on nine points, one behind leaders Montego Bay United who have played a game more. Waterhouse have scored 13 goals in their three games without conceding so far.

The loss saw Chapelton drop to 10th in the table on four points.

In the second game of the day, defending champions Portmore United scored late in time added on to earn a 1-1 draw against Arnett Gardens.

Diamond Clarke gave Arnett Gardens the lead in the 16th minute, tapping in from close range after reacting to a rebound from a free kick that came off a wall formed by Portmore.

Portmore rallied and threw everything in attack, and were rewarded when Clayton Peck scored in the 10th minute of time added.
