Digicel Foundation opens applications for 2026 Build Jamaica Grants
THE Digicel Foundation is inviting registered community organisations across Jamaica to apply for its 2026 Build Jamaica Grants, an initiative that will support community-led digital projects and practical water solutions to address the country’s evolving needs.
With grants of up to $2.5 million available per project, the programme builds on the foundation’s long-standing commitment to community development.
In a media release on Monday, the foundation pointed out that digital literacy remains a major focus of its work, with continued investment in initiatives that expand access to technology, equip people with essential digital skills, and create opportunities for learning and development.
Through this year’s grants, the foundation is seeking to extend that impact by supporting organisations with practical digital projects that respond to the needs of their communities.
According to the foundation, at the same time, the ongoing drought has highlighted the need for solutions that help farmers and communities manage limited water resources.
The grants will, therefore, also support projects focused on capturing, storing, and distributing water, as well as improving irrigation and water-use efficiency.
“Digital literacy continues to be an important part of how we help Jamaicans access opportunities, learn, and thrive. However, we also recognise that communities are facing immediate challenges, including the effects of the current drought on farmers and livelihoods.
“Through this year’s Build Jamaica Grants, we want to support organisations with practical solutions that address these needs, whether through digital literacy and access to technology or improved water management,” said Charmaine Daniels, CEO of Digicel Foundation.
Eligible applicants may include farmers’ groups, youth organisations, sports clubs, educational institutions, non-governmental organisations, organisations serving persons with special needs, and other civil society organisations.
Applicants are encouraged to clearly identify the community needs being addressed, the intended beneficiaries, the proposed solution, and how the project will be implemented and sustained.
Applications close on November 22, 2026. Interested organisations can review the application guidelines and submit their proposals online at www.digicelfoundation.org/jm/en.
