Body of Manchester woman suspected of drowning found face down in tank

MANCHESTER, Jamaica — Detectives in Manchester are seeking to determine the circumstances surrounding the death of a woman whose body was found face down floating in a tank at her yard in Content near Williamsfield, Manchester on Wednesday.

Police identified the deceased as Yvonne Smith.

Police have so far classified her death as a suspected case of drowning.

A police report said about 3:17 pm Smith’s body was found in the tank by residents and cops were called to the scene.

Smith’s body was found clad in a black blouse and a pair of blue pants.

Firefighters had to be called in to assist in retrieving Smith’s body from the tank.

Detectives are awaiting a post-mortem to conclude their investigation.
