TikTok creator Marcel Johnson dies at 32 after battle with cancer

KINGSTON, Jamaica — TikTok creator Marcel Johnson has died at age 32 following a battle with stomach cancer, prompting emotional tributes from his wife and brother.

In a heartfelt social media post shared on Monday, November 2, Johnson’s brother, Dedric Charles Johnson, paid tribute to his younger sibling, describing his death as the loss of a “piece of my heart” and one of the biggest pieces of his life.

He recalled looking up to Marcel, whom he described as a role model and the foundation of the family they had built together. He also praised his younger brother’s strength and courage throughout his illness, saying he had fought a difficult battle with an unwavering determination to live.

“Having you as my big brother was the biggest blessing I’ve had in life,” Dedric wrote, adding that losing him felt like losing part of himself, his history and a piece of home that could never be replaced.

He also reflected on the promises they had made to each other, including Marcel’s commitment to keep the family united and ensure that their children grew up knowing their father’s love and the values he had taught them.

Dedric said he would carry on his brother’s legacy and ensure that his memory lived on, adding that he hoped Marcel knew how deeply he was loved and how proud the family was of him.

Johnson’s wife also shared an emotional tribute, describing his death as the loss of her “whole entire half” and expressing disbelief at his passing.

In her post, she recalled that Marcel had been exhausted and in pain, and said his final words to her and Dedric on Monday morning were, “I’m ready to go.”

She said she had hoped they would have more time together, adding that life without him would never be the same.

“I love him with my whole entire being and life will absolutely never ever be the same,” she wrote schedule.
