Jamaican diaspora urged to support Reggae Boyz v USA South Florida match-up in December

KINGSTON, Jamaica — For the first time since 2011, the Jamaican diaspora in South Florida will have a chance to see the senior Reggae Boyz at home as the team prepares for an international match in South Florida against the United States on December 13.

Kick-off on match day, set for the Inter Miami CF Stadium, is at 3:30 pm

The Jamaica Football Federation noted that the game presents a wonderful opportunity to the diaspora living in Fort Lauderdale to attend, as a special seating section has been created for Jamaican supporters.

Jamaicans attending the game can purchase tickets online to sit in the Jamaican section here.

JFF President Michael Ricketts commented on strong diaspora presence in the area.

“Fort Lauderdale and, by extension, South Florida is colloquially referred to as Kingston 21 due to the massive Jamaican community. I understand close to 200,000 Jamaicans live in South Florida, so that shows you the volume of our people in this area. It is also only a one-hour flight from the island to Fort Lauderdale, so it’s very close.  We are encouraging our fellow Jamaicans to purchase tickets as soon as possible so they can make the Stadium feel like a home game for us come December 13,” he said.
