Dongfeng Jamaica launched

After nearly four decades of supplying automotive parts to Jamaican motorists, Bert’s is leveraging that experience as it enters the vehicle sales market with Chinese automotive brand Dongfeng.

The launch took place on Tuesday, October 27, at the company’s Hagley Park Road showroom.

The move follows three years of discussions surrounding the partnership and marks a significant expansion for the Jamaican-owned company, which is introducing a one-stop approach to vehicle ownership through its new dealership, Bert’s Automotive.

The company officially unveiled seven Dongfeng models, offering Jamaican motorists a selection of petrol, hybrid, and fully electric vehicles. Leading the line-up as the most affordable model is the SHINE GS, alongside the MAGE, HUGE, BOX, VIGO, 007, and M-HERO.

The ownership package includes a vehicle warranty of seven years or 300,000 kilometres, and complimentary scheduled servicing for three years or 42,000 kilometres, whichever comes first in each case, subject to the applicable terms and conditions.

Operating under the message Built for Jamaica. Backed by Bert’s, the company is positioning its existing parts business and after-sales infrastructure as key elements of the Dongfeng ownership experience.

“We had to tackle parts with the same importance as purchasing cars,” said Gari-Paul Tomlinson, director and purchasing manager at Bert’s Automotive.
