No stopping Legacy Isle in Temperence Oaks Trophy feature at Caymanas

The third running of the Temperence Oaks Trophy headlines tomorrow’s 10-race card at Caymanas Park — a Graded Stakes/Open Allowance test for three-year-olds and upward over 61/2 furlongs (1,300m).

The Jamaica Observer’s The Supreme Racing Guide breaks down each runner:

1. NAUTICAL STAR (USA): (6 dk b/br h by Dixie Chatter – Kiss Me Chocolate) – Closed from far back to finish a neck second to Dothraki in the Port Royal Sprint over 6 furlongs (1,200m) on October 19. The extra distance here is right up his alley, and he should be flying late again. Nautical Star is the main danger to the favourite.

2. RAINSVILLE: (7 gr g by Casual Trick – Fiftyshadesofray) – Outclassed on form. Hard to see him figuring in this company.

3. LINGUIST: (4 b f by Aveenu Malcainu – Bilingual) – A talented filly in her own right, but this is a big step up. She will need to improve significantly to trouble.

4. OF A REVOLUTION (USA): (7 ch h by MacLean’s Music – Hot Spell) – Also finished strongly for third, just 1 3/4 lengths behind Dothraki and Nautical Star over 6 furlongs. The extra half-furlong (100m) should suit him perfectly and he can be competitive again.

5. FUNCAANDUN (USA): (5 b h by Klimt – Fiftyshadesoffun) – Likely to be left behind when the real running starts. Others are preferred.

6. LEGACY ISLE (USA): (6 b h by Shackleford – Queenameina) – Disappointed in the recent Diamond Mile (1,600m) on July 25, finishing well down the track. But forget that run. Before that, he smashed the 7-furlong (1,400m) track record in 1:22.3 on June 6. If he returns anywhere near that form, this race is his to lose.
