Kirkland Moses takes it Pan Di Battlefield
Gospel recording artiste and ordained minister Kirkland Moses is gearing up to release his latest single Pan Di Battlefield, a song which chronicles the challenges he has faced.
The song, produced by Cross Links Production, is scheduled for release later this month.
In an interview with the Jamaica Observer on Friday, Kirkland Moses (real name Moses Kirkland Clarke) gave an insight into the inspiration behind the thought-provoking song.
“Throughout my life, I have faced many hidden battles, including delays, setbacks, and countless disappointments. Yet, through it all, God has never left my side. Regardless of how long the journey takes, with faith and perseverance I overcame,” Kirkland Moses disclosed.
He said the song was recorded to inspire others going through similar experiences like he did.
“It is through my own experience that I was inspired to write this song, Pan Di Battlefield, as a source of encouragement to others. My hope is that it will remind those who are fighting silent battles, facing life’s challenges, or feeling discouraged that they are never alone. Even in the midst of their struggles, God is still present, still faithful, and still working in their lives,” the artiste shared.
Baptised at an early age, he told the Observer that his Christian walk has faced its challenges.
“My journey has not been perfect, but through every experience I have learned to remain open to God, trust in His guidance, and depend on His wisdom. As I continue along this path, I am allowing Him to shape me, strengthen my faith, and help me grow in my ministry. I recognise that growth is a continuous process, and I am grateful for every lesson He teaches me along the way,” he said.
Originally from Kingston, Kirkland Moses attended the Gregory Park Primary School in St Catherine, and later the Greater Portmore High School. He also studied at The University of the West Indies Open Campus.
He spoke about his transition into becoming an ordained minister.
“I was ordained at the age of 31; however my journey in ministry began long before my ordination. I recognised my calling and, even before becoming ordained, I was actively involved in ministry, encouraging others to surrender their lives to God. My faith, conviction, and unwavering belief in God have strengthened my commitment to this path. I believe that He has called me for a purpose to share his word, inspire others, and lead people to experience his goodness, love, and faithfulness,” he stated.
Kirkland Moses finished second in the 2026 Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC) Gospel Star competition.
“I needed a bigger platform for my ministry to reach souls for the kingdom of God. The competition gave me the highlight I needed to reach and minister to souls near and far and to showcase the gift that God has placed within me. The journey was indeed a challenging one, but nevertheless I’ve learnt a lot,” he said.
The 32-year-old’s passion for music began at a very tender age when he started singing in church. As his love for music grew he also developed his musical talents as a drummer and keyboardist, using his gifts to contribute to worship and ministry.
He worships at the Church of Jesus Christ Blessings Plan Ministry, located at 11 Elgin Road.
His calling extends beyond the church’s walls as he seeks to reach souls, encourage the broken-hearted, and inspire positive change through the powerful message of Jesus Christ.
