Vows – Everything I’ve Been Looking For

Every time you touch me

Touch me like this is the last time

Every time you kiss me

Promise that you’ll love me

Love me like you’ll never see me again

— Alicia Keys

KNOWN for its pristine white sand beaches, Runaway Bay in St Ann would be the ideal destination for a beach wedding; however, Brian Pinnock and Fayon Bryce opted to keep their nuptials traditional with an intimate church ceremony attended by close family and friends. Vows takes you inside their special day.

How They Met…

Brian Pinnock and Fayon Bryce met at a friend’s birthday party in Florida. The attraction was immediate and the pair spent the entire night talking. Telephone numbers were exchanged, which led to months of bonding, and they soon became not only best friends but inseparable.

The Proposal…

“Brian proposed last year on Christmas morning,” shared Bryce. “I spotted an unmarked gift under the tree which I opened, of course! What I found inside was an unflattering trinket that Brian declared was a friendship ring. To say that I was upset would be an understatement… I stormed off. But Brian held me back, went down on one knee, took the real engagement ring out of his pocket and said: ‘Fayon, will you marry me?’

“I blurted out ‘Yes!’ and immediately called my mum and entire family. The planning started almost immediately with the help of my mum and the amazing team at Touch of Spring Flowers, Gifts and Wedding Centre in St Ann.”

Here Comes The Bride…

The wedding took place on Saturday, February 22, inside the quaint Runaway Bay United Church decorated in fuchsia and white with daisies and white and apple green cymbidium orchids, just the way the bride envisaged it for her grand entrance.

Escorted up the aisle by proud mum Elsie, Bryce was a picture of old Hollywood glamour in a white strapless Mori-Lee fit and flare gown with a beaded sweetheart neckline, asymmetric draping throughout the bodice, and corseted back. A white-feathered fascinator with a birdcage veil adorned her head, and she carried a bouquet of apple green and white cymbidium orchids and white roses accentuated with stems of silver beads wrapped with a Swarovski crystal band.

The ceremony, officiated by Reverend Delroy Johnson, saw the couple foregoing traditional vows and reciting their own, which reduced guests to tears. Musical tributes from organist Maurice Bryson and saxophonist Seymour Heron kept guests fully entertained throughout the ceremony. Watching with pride from the front pews were the bride’s parents, Elsie Clarke-Bloomfield and her husband, Warrington Bloomfield, and the groom’s parents, caterer Pauline Green and entrepreneur Gerald Pinnock.

The Reception:

Draped with white linens and decorated in hues of fuchsia and orange, the poolside terrace at the Piper’s Cove Resort in Runaway Bay, overlooking the Caribbean Sea incorporated the couple’s tropical theme. On each table stood a centrepiece of silver branches in a 28-inch vase. The sweetheart table was decorated with votive candles and an assortment of floral arrangements of white and apple green cymbidium orchids on a white linen and sheer overlay, belted with pearls. A backdrop of twinkling miniature white lights that mimicked the stars added a touch of whimsy to the scene.

With hosting duties ably handled by Dr Alverston Bailey, guests were treated to the musical mixes of DJ Keisha Rowe as they danced the night away. The couple performed their first dance to Like You’ll Never See Me Again by Alicia Keys, ahead of slicing into their three-tiered wedding cake, which was created by the groom’s aunt, Maria Green. It was draped in white fondant and featured white scrolling and an orange and fuchsia-painted ribbon of fondant cascading from the top tier and topped with a heart-shaped wedding topper with maple leaves.

Vows understands that the couple will decide on a location for their honeymoon later this year.
