SANDALS, JMMB celebrate women
Sandals Whitehouse recently joined forces with one of the leading financial services group, Jamaica Money Market Brokers Limited (JMMB), to honour female team members at the luxury-included resort in recognition of International Women’s Day 2015 (IWD).
Fifty women from all departments were escorted into the resort’s Giuseppe’s Restaurant by their male colleagues who served up a delicious Jamaican themed brunch.
Odene Spencer from the stewarding department serenaded the ladies throughout their dining experience.
Not only were the women wined and dined like royalty, they were also fully educated through a financially-wise seminar conducted by JMMB’s Michelle Sinclair-Doyley, manager, Client Financial Education.
The women were exposed to key financial topics including wealth accumulation, starting a business, budgeting, investing and ensuring financial stability. The energetic Sinclair-Doyley got the women revved up and ready to learn more about their finances, after opening with a spirited rendition of Donna Summers’ She Works Hard for the Money.
According to Sandals public relations manager Jervene Simpson, the resort decided to host this particular event based on popular requests from the female cohort at the resort.
“We knew we wanted to treat our ladies on this very special day, but we also wanted them to leave the function feeling empowered and educated about an issue that they wanted to learn more about. Based on their feedback, close to 80 per cent of the respondents asked for a seminar where they could learn more about investing their money and improving their wealth. We immediately reached out to JMMB and they were excited to jump on board,” she said.
The women received their very own personalised IWD souvenir items, with many walking away with additional gifts courtesy of Royale Pharmacy and Colombian Emeralds International.
