How to get him to notice you

How to get him to notice you

BY NICOLE NATION

So you’ve done everything under the sun to try to get this man’s attention, short of saying out loud that you like him and want him to be your man. How can you subtly send the message without having to wait eons for him to notice you exist?

Denecia Green, local author of the book Lies, Sex & Betrayal, shares five certified ways to get him into your arms, no scheming required.

1. Work on your wardrobe

In order for a man to be attracted to you, you have to be noticeable. Elegance and sophistication are key factors in this department. Men appreciate femininity but not anything over the top. Wear something that will get his attention. Your outfit should be a non-verbal conversation. People should be able to look at you and get a general sense of you. So switch up your style, add a few new outfits, and see what happens.

2. Massage his ego

Men’s egos are much more fragile than ours. Sometimes men are afraid to approach women because of the fear of rejection. For some, they have been down this road too often so you need to make your intentions known right away that you are indeed interested.  Eye contact is one way of making this known. Meet his eyes with a little coy smile then slowly look away. Whatever you do, do not stare. Keep appealing to that ego and you will certainly make his day.

3. Flirt conservatively

Flirting excessively can make you seem desperate and ruin the chances of your eye candy noticing you.  When you flirt, do so in private places without distraction and without being obvious — a gentle, brief touch of the arm, a friendly smile, or genuine compliment are a few examples. The key to flirting with someone you are attracted to is to be aware of timing, frequency, duration, location and response.

4.Demonstrate intelligence and confidence

For some reason, some women think that pretending not to know as much about something or acting helpless is attractive. Men prefer women they can have conversations with and who will challenge them to think. Start a conversation with him about topics you may have an interest in. Be confident enough to state your opinion and show off your intelligence as much as your physical appearance.

5. Be yourself

Why pretend to be someone you are not just so you can get a guy’s attention? Don’t pretend to like football just because it’s his favourite sport. If you are a silly person, then show that side by joking around with him. Just be yourself. If he doesn’t like you for who you are, then the cliché is true, you don’t need him! No guy is worth living a lie for, and a good guy won’t want you to change for him anyway.
