Until love finds you…

BY NICOLE NATION

Not everything is always going to go according to plan — getting an education, finding a man, getting married and then having a baby may not happen in that specific order. So what if you are ready for love and Mr Right hasn’t quite shown up yet?  Romance author Richie Drenz shares five things that you can do until love finds you.

1. Continue to stock pile that money

Love doesn’t pay the bills and neither are things getting cheaper by the day. Take this practical advice, continue to invest in yourself and continue to work for that paper. When Mr Right does come along you want to be able to come to the table with something. And even if the relationship doesn’t work, at least when all is said and done you are still able to take care of yourself financially while you continue on your search for the other Mr Right.

2. Exercise

You have to keep that body of yours in top condition for when he does come along. The competition is too stiff and there are plenty of women out there who are vying for the top spot in your future mate’s life. You have to be able to give them a run for their money. Don’t bother with any poppy-show thing, tone, tone, tone!

3. Learn how to cook

Though this might come as a surprise not every woman is a whiz when it comes to the kitchen. And so you might want to use this time to sharpen your culinary skills. You can only feed him patties for so long before he begins to ask for some real home cooked food. The old adage that the way to man’s heart is through his stomach still holds and so you should grab a knife and the chopping board while you still can. Just remember, the stove is not your enemy.

4. Work on you

Some women maintain that a relationship involves two halves coming together to make a whole. Boy, are you wrong! A relationship involves two wholes coming together. While you wait for love to find you, you should invest in your personal development. You should ensure that you are comfortable with who you are as a person before getting into a relationship.

5. Pray

During your time waiting, many a men will appear and they will all look as if they are your knight in shining armor. Fairytales and movies which end with happily ever after are only that, fiction. You have to spend time and prepare yourself. Take your time, and everything will go according to His plan.
