Join Yoplait’s breast cancer fight
WHILE celebrating Breast Cancer Awareness Month, remember to join Yoplait’s Friends in The Fight campaign by purchasing Yoplait’s yogurt with the pink lids.
From the sale of every six-ounce cup of Yoplait up to November 15, $10 will be donated to the Jamaica Cancer Society. The funds raised will be in aid of the society’s efforts, which include free and subsidised screening for women.
Additionally, October 16 was recognised as World Mammography Day and the society offered free mammograms to the first 175 women who turned up at its offices. Thereafter, non-members of the society received a five per cent discount on mammograms, while members received a 10 per cent discount.
As of age 40, it is recommended that women do regular mammograms to detect whether or not they are at risk for breast cancer and move swiftly to get treatment.
