Foods nutritionists never eat
Dear Donovan,
I recently read an article online about foods nutritionists would never eat. These include diet soda, raw oysters, processed cheese, bacon and artificial sweeteners. Can you list some of the foods we like that you would never touch because they are absolutely unhealthy?
I am thinking maybe a better title for the online article you read could be ‘What foods most nutritionists will not recommend to their clients’.
I must tell you that all nutritionists are expected to eat healthy foods.
In a general way, the fact that we are recommending foods to enhance the wellness of our clients suggests that we should at least ensure that we consume healthy foods in our diet. I personally try to eat in a healthy way. I have been a vegetarian for over 25 years.
Being a vegetarian and a person who tries to eat healthy would definitely mean that there are some foods and drinks that I do not consume. These include eggs, meat, fruit cake, meat burgers, meat patties, sodas, flavoured juices and alcohol. Generally, I try to have a diet with a fair amount of fruits, vegetables and vegetable juices. In addition, as much as possible, I consume about 60 per cent of my foods in the raw state. Foods in the raw state have far more vitamins, minerals, nutrients, and organic water compared to processed foods.
