Lifting Soles

Camille Bryan, founder and CEO of Ruff Cutz Sandals and former fine arts student of the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts, has lifted soles with her final-year haute shoe collection labelled Ruff Cutz by Camille. “I wanted to create shoes that would provoke questions of beauty, status and functionality,” Bryan shared with AW Fashion. The collection is, thankfully, a far cry from her initial sandals enterprise. “I wanted to create an exclusive line that was over-the-top and original, something that would be seen in museums or in music videos,” she continued

It’s mission accomplished for Bryan with her Alexander McQueen-meets Caribbean vibe collection of colourful platform-high cedar-wooden sandals complemented by oversized clutch purses made from leatherette and canvas.

Little surprise really that Bryan’s work has caught the attention of celebrated fashion magazine, W. It would behove you to invest in a pair of her haute footwear before they become priceless objets d’art — check out her Instagram page at @ruffcutzsandals.
