LASCO/JCF top cops treat women of WROC
ON Valentine’s Day, the 12 finalists in the LASCO/JCF Police Officer of the Year competition united to take a stand against violence by organising a day of powerful presentations for the community of women aided by the Women’s Resource and Outreach Centre (WROC).
They also provided them with a Valentine’s Day filled with love, lunch, empowerment and a bit of lavish treatment. They received roses and plants courtesy of Gorgeous Flowers; soup sponsored by Island Grill, lunch and gift bags provided by LASCO; and chocolates and travel mugs from FLOW Jamaica.
The LASCO top cops assembled media personality, Empress Golding; Alysia Moulton-White, of Sagicor; Rochelle Cameron of Flow; and Nadeen Spence, student services and development manager for Mary Seacole Hall, UWI, who engaged, delighted and inspired the more than 40 women in attendance.
The theme for the event was ‘Love me to live, don’t Love me to death.’
The keynote address was delivered by Acting Commissioner of Police Novelette Grant.
