AW Fashion: Safidah’s equinox
Volume, print and expert finish typify womenswear designer Angella Scott’s work. Scott, the creative architect behind the Safidah label, presented these hallmarks, two Sundays ago, at The Marketplace nightspot Fiction Fantasy I for her take on the approaching summer.
Ruffles, ruffles, and more ruffles were woven throughout the entire collection which transitioned from all-white-everything, to pastel and marine hues, with a psychedelic black-and-white print bringing this assured idea of the Safidah woman to a memorable close. And speaking of archetypes, walking alongside the show’s model cast were a few of the designer’s muses and industry friends — real women who represent the ‘art of sophistication’ through their head-turning personal style.
