Ol’ fire stick…
“Ol’ fire stick easy fi ketch” is a Jamaican saying that shows how easy it is to go back to what was comfortable and secure. A lot of people can relate to this because it is actually easier to go back than forward. Below women share their experiences with this.
Tamara:
I was seeing this guy for a few weeks and he would always vent about how much he hated his ex, and swore that I was the best thing that came across his path. But believe it or not, I went out one night and saw him with her. He didn’t even call or text me to tell me it was over between us. I am better off being single than being with a man with baggage. Ladies, once a man starts to vent about his past, it is clear that you are nowhere in his present or future.
Shereen:
The same woman my man came home and cursed out was the same woman he cheated on me with. After a few investigations, I discovered they were in a relationship for years before me. It almost drove me crazy because I was investing my time into this man and he used me royally.
Sophia:
I was dating this guy for almost a year when I started to feel weird about our conversations. He would mention his ex all the time and one night he actually got upset at me for criticizing her. That was when I thought it was time for an end. After a day of breaking up with me, he was back with her.
NC:
My ex was getting a divorce when he met me. He moved me into an apartment and he lived with me – well, at least I thought so. After a few months, I stopped hearing about divorce and I stopped hearing about a future with me. I actually got into my car once and drove to his wife’s house, and there I saw his car. Now I know they have kids and all that, but he lied to me telling me he was out with the guys.
Janice:
My ex would rant and rave about his ex and how she was this and that, but he left me and went back to her. I hear they have two children now. I am just careful of men now.
