The (social media) games people play
Social media has a strange way of revealing things many of us would rather keep close to our hearts – revealing infidelities, people’s true characters, the works. Because people basically put their lives out there for all to see, with exposure often comes repercussions. What has been your most eye-opening revelation on social media?
Tamara:
I had a very interesting experience three years ago with my ex. He lent me a phone he never really used so I could use it while my phone was being repaired. He accidentally left his SIM card in it and I asked permission to use it, and he said yes. I remember putting our picture up as my WhatsApp profile, only to receive a message from a woman asking why I had her man’s picture up. That caused major problems. From that experience, I learned never to put a man’s picture online unless you’re sure he’s your man.
Tracy:
I found out my man was cheating because another woman had photos of them both on Facebook. The picture was sent to me by some mutual friends.
Tameka B:
I was a side chick and yes I knew I was his side chick. I put up our picture kissing on Instagram and his “wifey” saw it and all hell broke loose. I did it because I have all rights too. He was my man too so I didn’t see what the problem was if I put up our picture, just like she was posting all of theirs. He is now fully with me as she walked away.
