Baby father blues

It is nothing new – expected in some cases in fact, that a mature man in the dating game may have sired children before you met him. But women have been warned to beware of instances when a man has several children with one woman or many and did not settle down before, as it may indicate an unwillingness to commit.

What are women’s views? Would you date a guy with several kids?

Marie:

Absolutely not! I met this wonderful guy and up until he confessed to me he had seven children, I was intrigued. I don’t do the stepmother role and if I should try it, it would have to be one child, not a million.

TTC:

My ex-husband had five children by five women when we started to date and I never listened to my mother when she told me to be careful; until I found out about eight more that he had within our marriage. His reasoning was that I couldn’t get pregnant so he got it elsewhere. We are now getting a divorce.

Tamara:

It is a clear indication to me that the man has commitment issues and that is a no-no for me. I don’t even like dating men with children. I believe if I am going to truly settle down with a man, he must be as fresh to parenthood as I am.

Tanya:

I don’t see a problem dating a man with multiple babymothers as long as they all have respect for the main squeeze and his children show the respect twice as much. I see nothing wrong with that. It is life and people make mistakes.

Shanna:

I see that as a red flag so I could never date a man like that.
