Children learn what they see
Couples with children are often oblivious to the reality that children learn what they see and hear. What are you teaching your children?
Below women tell what happened when their children witnessed adult acts.
Nichole:
My son is very aggressive and I know exactly why. He saw his father, my ex-husband, beat me one night until I was knocked out cold. My son is six years old and I know it hurt him to watch helplessly. I had to get his dad out my life for peace and definitely for my child’s sanity.
Shanna-Kaye:
My son was about nine months old, and when I saw him doing something one day, I realized it was time for him to get his own room. I don’t believe kids and parents should be in one room. I understand that some people really cannot afford it, and that is exactly why women should hold off on kids until the finances are right.
Sue:
I don’t think babies should be sleeping in the same bed with their parents. It’s those things that make those little girls on the road think that they’re big.
Marli:
My relationship with my ex surely traumatized my daughter as she walked in on us being intimate. She is 14 years old. That’s not good at all. I never meant for it to happen but she came in at the wrong time.
Sashene:
I am careful about what I expose my children to. I don’t do spontaneous sex acts with my man because we have three children.
