When old brooms know the corners best
Many women are stuck in relationships they feel are heading nowhere, but they are fearful of taking the risk and going for someone new who promises to be a much better partner than their current. Sticking to the saying that the grass is not always greener on the other side, they will stick with their old broom of a man, who knows their ins and outs.
Why is this?
Sue:
I think most women stay in their relationships knowing it is not going anywhere simply because they are fearful that moving on could be a worse experience. My granny is always saying that we love to jump out of the frying pan and into the fire. This is what keeps women, I think, in unhealthy relationships.
Tracey:
I sat in a relationship that felt like a jailhouse for five years, even though I got real tired of his cheating and beatings. Yes, he was providing for me and giving me everything I needed materially, but I walked out after five years and I met my husband. I have never been happier and I lack nothing.
Bridget:
I’d rather go for someone new than stay in foolishness. Once you keep slipping, I am bouncing!
Ann:
To be honest, I’d rather stick to the familiar because most times you leave your man and you already know his dirty ways, and then you go to a new man and pick up his crap. I’d rather stick around and try making it work.
Camile:
I am not staying in anything and wasting my time. It’s now modern times. It takes little effort to find a new man.
