Sigma participants encouraged to rock Afros, athletic gear
AS the buzz intensifies around the 20th-anniversary staging of the Sagicor Sigma Corporate Run event, participants are being encouraged to represent this year’s patrons come race day, Sunday, February 18.
The 2018 Sigma Run patrons are Olympic and world champion sprinter Usain Bolt, Miss Universe Jamaica 2017 and 2nd Runner-up Miss Universe 2017, Davina Bennett, and Fitness Coach and CEO of Dynamic Lifestyle, Patrice J White.
“Participants should come out rocking their Afros, don themselves in funky athletic shorts, and bring their A-level fitness game on race day to represent the greatness our patrons exude,” said Ingrid Card, executive director of Sagicor Foundation.
This year the run is being celebrated under the theme ’20 years of running for a purpose’, with all proceeds from the run going towards two beneficiaries — St Christopher’s School for the Deaf and the Spanish Town Hospital Neonatal/Special Care Unit, to help with infrastructural improvements and to procure much-needed equipment.
