Marlene Street Forrest gets Rotary award
MARLENE Street Forrest, managing director of the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE), is the 2018 Vocation Service Awardee for the Rotary Club of Kingston East and Port Royal.
Street Forrest was honoured at the club’s awards ceremony at Eden Gardens recently for her lengthy, dedicated and distinguished service to Jamaica.
It was under her stewardship that the JSE became demutualised and the US-denominated market and the Junior Market were launched. She also spearheaded the Registrar Division of the Jamaica Central Depository, where she served as general manager of this subsidiary of the JSE.
In 2016, she was conferred with the honour of Order of Distinction in the rank of Commander in recognition of her outstanding leadership in the growth of the JSE.
“Her story is an inspiration for all of the journey to attaining success,” the Rotary Club said in a statement.
For her part, Street Forrest said the award was very special to her because she was being awarded by her Rotary family.
Street Forrest has been a member of the Rotary Club of Kingston East and Port Royal since September 2007.
