How soon into a relationship should a woman consider pregnancy?
Getting pregnant is a lifetime commitment, and making this decision with the wrong partner can mean a lifetime of heartache. But what happens when you’re convinced that you’re in love; that you can be a family, and sharing this love with another human being is the next best step?
Sharon:
I think it is best to wait because getting pregnant for the wrong man will leave you more depressed than you could ever imagine. I walked that road 16 years ago and even though I do not regret my son, I regret who his father is. So ladies, be careful about jumping into pregnancy too soon. Take the time and get to know the man you are with inside out before you make life-changing decisions.
Cathy:
Wait for at least four years into the relationship. Give yourself time to see the true person. I waited and just as I was about to get off my birth control, I found out he cheated not only once, but had another woman pregnant too.
BF:
Follow your gut feelings. If you feel that the man will be a good father, go ahead. There is no rule to love and relationships – you just go with the flow and hope for the best because the reality is, getting pregnant is a risk. You could think you chose the perfect man and it turns out to be the opposite.
SR:
Wait for marriage before you make such a decision. I am a Christian so I have to live by what the Word of God says. I believe that if people did as the Bible instructed, we would have fewer problems in relationships today.
Latoya:
It is a big risk when it comes on to pregnancy and marriage so I cannot say to put a timeline on it. It just depends on what a woman wants at a particular time in her life.
