School’s out!
IT’S official, school’s out and summer is in – that means plenty of fun for the little ones. As an official treat for the close of the school year, Sagicor Foundation hosted a school’s-out fun day to fete the children of its adopted schools – AME Basic School in Portland Cottage, Clarendon; Haughton Grove Early Childhood Institution in Ramble District, Hanover; and D Frank’s Early Childhood Institution in Greenvale, Manchester.
The early childhood institutions were adopted under the 2017/2018 Sagicor Foundation Adopt-A-School programme. During the period, the foundation provided significant infrastructural upgrades at the schools to include classroom expansions, beautification of the schools’ environment by repainting the buildings and adding colourful, vibrant murals to the walls, provision of water tanks, addition of a sick bay, donation of First Aid kits, installation of new play sets, plus other physical renovations.
In addition to the renovations, Sagicor Foundation also hosted a Christmas treat, health fair, reading day and other social activities for the children. For the final fun day the children enjoyed plenty of treats, and here are some highlights from Haughton Grove and AME.
