Husbands tell surprising secrets they’re hiding from their wives
MANY couples enjoy healthy relationships — and apart from the occasional bar stops with the boys — most wives believe that they and hubs share everything. Unfortunately, this couldn’t be farther from the truth, and while your husbands might love you unconditionally, some of them have deep and sometimes dark secrets looming in their closets.
This week All Woman asked a few married men to fess up to secrets that they have been keeping from their wives, and here’s what they said:
F, 36, labourer:
My wife lives overseas; we met on Facebook and last year she came down and got married to me. It will soon be time for me to go and live with her in America, but I still have my woman here and deep down all I want from my wife is the papers. My family members are also using her because she is generous. I care about her because her heart is so good, but I don’t love her like that and I plan to leave when I get my papers. It bothers me that I will be going there and then breaking her heart, especially when I made her love me and convinced her I am not after what she has. But I have to do it for my family because of how tough things are here.
Dave, 45, security officer:
In a moment of passion one night, a far distance from home, I cheated on my wife and the woman got pregnant. It so happened that she contacted me when the child was about a year and a half — with a court summons. Her sister who worked in the clerical office of the court submitted documents for her. I did not put up any defence because I didn’t want my wife to find out. I have only seen the child once and we don’t have a relationship. She will turn 18 next year and I can’t wait because I am tired of having to hide my paystubs from my wife. Plenty of people think I should come clean to her, but my wife is a no-nonsense woman and I am sure she would leave me.
Bryan, 27, student:
I cannot stop checking out other women, even when I am in the presence of my wife. I also have a separate account that my wife doesn’t know about.
Anthony, 39, business owner:
Sometimes when women have children they just “let go” themselves and don’t care about their bodies. Right now I love my wife, she is a good wife and mother, but I have to pretend to be attracted to her. When we are getting it on I am not thinking about her. I want to say something to her before I totally lose it and stray, but she is a sensitive kind of woman — you know, she takes everything to heart so things might actually get worse.
James, 31, medical professional:
My wife has a son from her previous marriage and I cannot stand him. He makes it difficult to parent him and I would rather avoid him altogether. My wife is fussing about his father filing for him, especially since the paperwork should be complete any time now, but the truth is I could have an orgasm from the excitement I am feeling that he will be gone soon.
Marsh, 44, marketer:
I have not been truthful to my wife about how much I make. I just wanted her to carry some amount of weight and I know how women tend to be when men earn more. The sad thing is she has created a whole budget and she had suggestions about what she would take care of. I misjudged her and she is actually putting more in the home financially than I am. I am wondering if I should pretend I got a raise. One more thing — she makes more than I do and she doesn’t try to rub that in my face either.
