Pregnant women, lactating mothers benefit from Kiwanis maternal workshop
DOZENS of pregnant women and lactating mothers from downtown Kingston and adjoining communities benefited from a maternal workshop organised by the Young Children Priority One Committee of Kiwanis Division 23 East on September 1 at the Victoria Jubilee Hospital antenatal clinic.
The objectives of the workshop were to educate and support the maternity needs of the women.
Kiwanis president Judith Montague guided the audience through the topics which included stress management presented by Sophie Mair, child psychologist; a live demonstration on how to take care of a baby by Cari Med Ltd; a saving for your baby presentation from NCB OMNI; and a keeping mom and baby safe from mental and physical abuse presentation by gynaecologist and obstetrician Dr Michael Abrahams.
