Compensation necessary
Many people believe that a man should pay to be with a woman because, well, nothing is free. Some have taken this to mean that women are operating businesses and their men are mere customers. Some women, however, are convinced that this is not the case.
We asked them to justify exactly why they expect to be compensated financially by their partners.
Chin:
You cannot have a woman and not expect to take care of her even if she is independent. It just shows your maturity and masculinity and personally, I cannot be with a man and he does nothing for me. I am a realist, and I am tired of some women defending these men who think it is okay to be with them all day and all night and then they are hungry. That is total madness to me.
Tanya:
I am not being with you and you cannot even buy me a pair of undies but you want to take them off. I think as a man you should know that when you do your hustling or you have a normal job, you must put aside money for your woman. I personally cannot stand a man who is a miser. Once I realise a man is for himself, I’m out.
Jamie:
I was once with an affluent, mature man and everyone, including my family and close friends, thought I was well-off because this man had several businesses. But he was stingy with money. One day I was extremely hungry and the man came to my yard after two in the morning telling me he wanted romance. I told him I was hungry and you know the man drove off? I couldn’t believe it! That was when I realised I was the idiot.
Debbie:
Every man must take care of his woman and that is law. Ladies, I will defend this mantra to the last day on earth. If your man doesn’t ask you how you manage with your bills on a monthly basis, stop being with him.
Andrene:
If a man shows me a sign from the first month that he is not giving me money, I am not going any further with him. I seriously wish some of these young women would understand that a man must take care of you before you own him and post him on social media as your man.
