From one-night-stand to lifetime love
Women are always under the microscope when it comes to intimacy. If a woman gets intimate with a man too early into a relationship, she is trashed by both men and women for being ‘loose’. Should a man do the same, he is praised. But there are success stories of women who rebelled against the out-dated societal relationship rules, and ended up finding the loves of their lives.
Here are a few of their stories.
GH:
I met my husband in a strip club and we went for a drink the following night and did the deed. Many of my friends at the time said that I sent the man the wrong message and he wouldn’t be interested in me after that because he would assume I was easy. He called me soon after and we started dating until he asked me to marry him. I am simply saying love has no guidelines; I found it in a strip club.
AM:
I slept with my man in the first week after meeting him. When we decided to take it to the next level, everyone told me to forget a healthy relationship with him because it wouldn’t last. We have been together three years now, going on four. I am not one to tell anyone how to live, but if you want a real relationship, there is no one size fits all and surely no one way to finding true love.
LL:
I tell my fiends all the time of how I met my husband and they find it hard to believe. I actually went to a house party and was drinking extremely hard and basically got busy with a random guy. I woke up in a bed with him and I felt awful. He was good looking so yes I was attracted, but to let down myself, I felt horrible. But he kept communicating via Facebook and here we are seven years later, married with children.
CD:
I was very rigid with how I handled relationships until I realised that having all these rules and expectations was exactly what was holding me back from actually finding love. The moment I let down my hair for once and just lived in the moment, I met my husband. I am not telling women to go around being with everybody, but if you meet someone and the chemistry is there, then go ahead and try – he could be the one. Use protection though!
VC:
Because of what society has taught us as women, we are led to believe that the longer you keep the kitchen closed, the better the food will taste. Not true! Just live! I did and found the best man and after five years I still feel the same as the first day we made love.
