How did you meet?
It is always a breath of fresh air listening to the stories of how couples met and fell in love. Some stories are funny, and some weird, and we reached out to some women who were open to sharing how they met their partners and the significance of the meetings.
Pat:
I met my husband at the doctor’s office. He was there with his child for an appointment and I was having the flu. He sat right across from me and our eyes met and we talked for a bit. After my appointment I thought he had left since he went in before me, but he hadn’t, and we exchanged numbers. That was all it took.
Jacqueline:
I met my husband in the supermarket. I cannot forget it because Jamaica was under a hurricane watch so you can just imagine how packed the supermarket was. He and I were arguing over the last box of candles which he eventually passed to me. After five years we still laugh about it. I was worried about getting married because when I met him I was 34 years old, but here is the thing, I was not expecting to meet anyone that day, especially the man of my dreams.
Daneille:
I met my man while I was buying gas. He was in his Benz and I was in my Swift. He kept staring at my Swift like it was the first time he was seeing one. I asked him if he wanted it and he joked about it being better than his Benz. We exchanged numbers, went out a few times, and we ended up being exclusive.
Candace:
I met my man on Facebook and I am not ashamed to say so. This guy liked every single post and I decided to send him a message to tell him thanks. He was sweet with his response and we kept messaging each other until we gradually got really close and then met in person. I must say, I was not disappointed. He looked even better in real life. My friends were initially skeptical about it but after a year they saw that he meant well and we were in love. I am now engaged to be married next year.
Ashleigh:
I met my boyfriend in a club. He simply came over and bought me a drink, we were talking a bit, then he left his business card. I called him a week after and he actually remembered me. Today, after two years, we are living together with our newborn son.
