Escaping the date from hell
A bad date can have you questioning why you left your house in the first place, as the women below share.
Marie:
I literally couldn’t deal with this guy and his scent. He was stank, to be honest, and I was sitting there thinking of a nice way to end the date. But it was like my mind took over and I told him I couldn’t sit there in the bad odour and I called a cab and left. I met him on the Internet and I learnt a nice lesson.
Chin:
From I sat down to have a conversation with the man and he said he was unemployed, I was ready to leave. I couldn’t bear to be fake with it and I told him I was going to the bathroom and basically left him there. I cannot be with an unemployed man when I am also seeking assistance. It makes no sense to me.
Jody:
From the guy picked me up I saw all the red flags in the car – it smelled bad, he had clothes all over, and his phone wouldn’t stop ringing. He said it was his baby mother! I messaged a friend and told her to call me and say it was an emergency and she did that and I left. He tried calling and texting but I blocked him. He was too much drama for me – too messy.
Ornella:
I am very straightforward so the last bad date I had, I told the guy I was over the date and I asked him not to call or text me and thanked him for his time. I am not going to use some trick to let down someone – I just be myself and honest.
Lace Ann:
This guy took me out; he had a real nice personality but his breath was so bad, it made the entire date unbearable. I didn’t initially judge him on it because everyone is allowed a bad day, but every time we went out it was the same thing. One day I just had to tell him that I could not go further because his breath was a turn off. We argued and he blocked me but truth is truth.
